A Passion To Educate + Love For Real Estate = The Phenomenal Rhonda Mendonca!

  • Posted on Oct 15, 2018

When I think of friends who’ve become family, I reflect on our initial encounter. And more often than not, the initial encounter resonates throughout the friendship. I met Rhonda Neal over 10 years ago. We were both working in the Information Technology arena, teaching interviewing skills and technology classes under the umbrella of my husband’s technology training firm. The sisterhood Rhonda displayed was authentic, warm and real. Rhonda exudes leadership and strength. She’s smart, resourceful, generous, kind, and highly ambitious.  Rhonda’s nature is to educate, which leads me back to our initial encounter.

What has been consistent throughout our friendship is Rhonda providing endless resources, genuine love, and the simple fact of wanting to witness everyone around her succeed.

Featuring Rhonda this month is a SMALL token of my appreciation. She’s my families’ go-to real estate agent because she is phenomenal at brokering real estate deals, as well as the aforementioned reasons.

Everyone, please meet my go to real estate agent, Rhonda Neal! We hope you enjoy the read.

1.How long have you worked in the real estate industry and what is your specialty?

I’ve been in the real estate business for over 15 years. I specialize in traditional home sales (buyers/sellers), property management services, rentals, homebuyers, home sellers, bank-owned homes, investors and short sales.

2. What geographical area(s) are you licensed in?

I’m licensed in District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.

3. Why did you decide to become a real estate agent?

Prior to becoming a real estate agent, I was a loan originator, and at the time my cousin Shirley was my loan processor. My cousin and I often discussed business ventures and creating residual income. One day Shirley called me and asked what I thought about the two of us attending real estate school together. I thought it was a great idea, as I have always desired to provide individuals and families an opportunity to create generational wealth. Shirley and I started the journey together and became licensed real estate agents. The rest is history.

4. What are the steps to become a real estate agent?

Step 1: Choose where you want to be licensed.

Step 2: Register and complete the 60-hour Pre-Licensing course. Once you have passed the course, you will receive a certificate of completion, which enables you to register for the exam:

Step 3:  Schedule and pass the Real Estate Exam (includes both of the National and State exams).

Step 5: Choose a brokerage to associate with and begin your career!

5. What advice would you offer aspiring realtors?

Be ready to spend money to make money. It is imperative you are diligent in building your real estate business for success and treat every client like gold because they are!

6. The real estate arena changes frequently, what tools do  you implement to ensure your team is aware of industry trends?

We are in constant pursuit of ensuring we are abreast of prior, existing, and future trends, policies and laws. We consistently analyze the market to ensure we’re aware of what’s high, what’s low, and what’s changing.

7. Due to the highly competitive nature of real estate, how do you handle the stress that often comes with the profession?

7 years ago, I began to experience dizziness and excruciating migraines. I scheduled an appointment with a neurosurgeon, and was later diagnosed with Type 1, Chiari Malformation (kee-AH-ree mal-for-MAY-shun), a condition in which brain tissue extends into your spinal canal. It occurs when part of your skull is abnormally small or misshapen, pressing on your brain and forcing it downward.

The prognosis I receive has changed my outlook on life drastically. I do not sweat the small stuff. One of the prayers I live by is “God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; and the Wisdom to know the difference.”

8. Where do you plan to see your business in the next five years?

Our goal is to cultivate long lasting relationships. We want to receive a call from our customers’ children, grandchildren, etc. We want to assist families in growing and creating generational wealth through real estate.

In addition, I am pursuing a broker’s license, which will provide the opportunity to expand and enlist additional innovative and seasoned agents.

9. What is your favorite quote?

“Let’s Get It.” When I say that, I’m in serious hustle mode.

10. What inspires you?

First and foremost giving all glory to God, for allowing me to be able to wake up another day. My children, my grandchildren, and life itself!
