Focused, goal-driven, and always learning, Keysha Dale actively pursues her success while assisting other women to fast-track their own. Her willingness to be mentored and to mentor others has catapulted her success in the health services profession. The healthcare executive does so much more than play her role at work, she actively seeks ways to improve the profession through service. Dale is the District of Columbia (DC) Long-Term Care Administration Board Chairperson and the National Association of Long-Term Administrator Board (NAB) State Governance and Regulatory Forum Chair.

Keysha’s path to success is paved with what could be perceived as personal failures. In her book, Rock Bottom Success, Dale admits that early in her career she often reacted with emotions and impulsive behavior. Every failure can be a lesson, if you pay attention. She learned the hard way to keep a cool head and to be proactive about her responsibilities to herself, her employer, her team and the people she served. Every lesson left Keysha with pearls of wisdom that she employs to maintain and continuously achieve success. No grit. No pearl.

When Keysha is not blazing trails in the healthcare arena, she mentors up and coming professional women. As a highly sought-after speaker, Dale uses her book to share pearls of wisdom to audiences throughout the United States. 1. Rock Bottom Success is a spectacular read full of inspiration and pearls of wisdom. Where did the idea to author your book come from?

This is a great question! Well back in 2007 I did the unthinkable and resigned from my job prematurely and experienced my Rock Bottom moment; I vowed at that time that I would write a book to assist other’s and making the same mistake that I did and also provide them with Pearls of Wisdom while working in corporate America.

2. How do you balance life as a wife, mom, healthcare executive, author, transformational speaker, in addition to various other ventures?

My order in life is God, Me and then my family. If I don’t take care of me then I can’t do or take care of anyone else!

3. What advice do you offer aspiring authors?

Just begin to write! I always encourage others to write books; I believe that we all have a journey to share and that the world is waiting to hear!

4. What advice do you offer someone who is dealing with writer’s block?

Create an outline, get an accountability partner, join a writing group. I joined the VIP Club with Mrs. Tressa Azarel Smallwood and she has been a great mentor; these suggestions will enable the writer to overcome writer’s block.

5. What type of writing schedule did you develop and maintain to ensure completion of “Rock Bottom Success?”

I wrote weekly to ensure my project was completed.

6. How would you like to see your brand flourish in the next 5 years?

I am currently in the process of developing online courses to partner with various professionals that focus on women in business.

7. What career advice would you offer your younger self?

I love this question; I would tell my younger self JUST BE YOU BABY! God chose the weak things of the world to confine the wise; don’t you worry about your shortcomings because the world needs you!

8. What do you want the “take away” for readers to be?

To always focus on God and he will provide you HOPE and STRENGTH to endure.

9. What is your favorite quote or bible verse?

Phil 4:13; I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me; this is my go to bible verse. It helped me during my Rock Bottom moment and it continues to help me now!

10. What is your WHY?

My Why is helping others as other mentors have helped me; my mission is to empower women to reach their full potential!
